Policies
Appointments
All office visits are to be scheduled. Please call our office before coming in.
- If you believe you have an urgent situation, please call first. Some problems are best handled in the emergency department.
- Well visits are scheduled up to 3 months in advance.
- Sick visits are scheduled on the same day only.
- Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to ensure enough time for check-in.
- To help provide timely service to our patients, please arrive on time for your appointment.
We try to offer a window of time for patients who are late, but when arriving after your appointment time, it will be at the discretion of the office whether or not the appointment will need to be rescheduled.
Cancellations/No Shows
To provide high quality care and in fairness to other patients and the providers, we require at least 24 hours notice to cancel appointments.
There will be a $25 fee for the second cancelled appointment without a 24 hour notification or for the second no-show.
These fees are not billed to insurance.
The practice reserves the right to dismiss patients with three or more cancelled/missed appointments without adequate notice.
Walk-Ins
Our office is not set up for walk-in appointments. Patients who walk in with a non-emergency condition will be:
- Fit into the existing schedule as best as possible
- If we are not able to fit them in that day, they will be asked to return later in the day when the schedule allows.
ADHD, Anxiety, Depression Medication Refills
Policy for Divorced or Separated Parents
Lowry Pediatrics providers and staff strive to provide the highest quality of medical care to your child(ren). Our focus is on your child’s medical, emotional, psychological, and physiological health. We are not party to nor wish to be involved in any legal issues involving divorce, separation, or custody agreements. As the parent or legal guardian of the patient, please read and agree to the following policy so that we may focus on the care and wellbeing of your child(ren.)
- The providers, medical assistants, office, and billing staff will not be put in the middle of domestic issues or disagreements over the phone or in the office.
- Please make decisions regarding appointments, vaccinating and/or any office procedures PRIOR to visiting our practice.
- Only in situations where there is a confirmed, documented court order will one of the parents be denied access to the minor child’s health records or visits at the office. Lowry pediatrics must have a copy of this court order on file in the minor child’s chart.
- If there is NOT a court order on file with our office, either parent or legal guardian can write and sign a “Consent to Treat” that authorizes individuals like grandparents and nannies to bring your child to the practice, be present during the visit, and consent to any treatment during that visit. Either parent or legal guardian can schedule an appointment for their child, be present for the visit and /or obtain a copy of the visit summary. (Subject to medical records fee.)
- It is both parents’ responsibility to communicate with each other about the patients; care, office visit dates and any other pertinent information relevant to the patient. It is not the responsibility of the provider to communicate visit information to each custodial parent separately. Our providers will not call the non-attending parent following visits.
- Additionally, we will not call the other parent for consent regarding appointments scheduled, restrict either parent’s involvement in the patient’s care unless authorized by law or tolerate appointment scheduling/cancelling patterns of behavior between parents.
- If we feel that any of the above-mentioned items are not being followed, become an issue for our staff, or serve as an impediment to properly caring for your child(ren), we reserve the right to discharge the family from the practice.
- This policy will be reviewed with and signed by caregivers upon joining our Lowry Pediatrics family.
Medication Refills
Medication refills are provided to our patients who are up-to-date on all required well child checks and chronic disease visits (ie: every 6 months for ADHD and asthma management).

Please allow 72 hours for our staff to fulfill these requests.
See “Other Services” on our website for more details.
Telephone/Triage Calls
We strive to return calls in a timely manner. We ask that you:
- Reserve after hours calls for urgent matters only.
- Save routine questions or concerns for regular office hours.
- Ensure when leaving a message during office hours that you are available at that number. (Providers and medical assistants return calls periodically throughout the day, so we ask that you can always be reached at the number you provide.)
Please note that prescription refills and referrals are not considered emergencies and will not be completed after hours.

Financial/Payment Requirements
Make a PaymentLowry Pediatrics accepts most insurance plans. Please note we do not accept Denver Health or Kaiser Medicaid. Feel free to call our billing department to verify if your insurance is accepted.
As a courtesy to our patients, Lowry Pediatrics will accept "assignment of benefits" and will bill your insurance company for you, given we have all the necessary information and paperwork. Every effort will be made to estimate and collect co-payments at time of service, but all unpaid balances will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian. Please understand the insurance contract between you and your insurance carrier for covered/non-covered benefits. If an insurance carrier has not paid within 60 days of billing, any unpaid fees are due and payable from parent/guardian.
For all uninsured patients, we will gladly give a discount for services when paid at time of service.
In the event that payment arrangements need to be established with our billing department, patients have a maximum of six months for payment in full.
Please contact Alyssa at 720-595-5139 to discuss insurance or payment policies in further detail if necessary.
